Resource Center

Central knowledge and asset repository to host everything automation builders need to succeed, such as training paths, frequently asked questions, how-to guides, and best practices documents.

Overview

The knowledge of building and managing automation projects can quickly become isolated to different sections of the organization and individuals as more teams and users begin to use Workato. It could be foundational knowledge that can help new users with the information they need before starting an automation project. Or it could be experiential knowledge gained by solving complex yet common problems such as managing automation performance and errors.

A lack of a formal mechanism for sharing knowledge across the organization can exacerbate challenges with scaling automation adoption beyond specific teams or personas. Onboarding new users to the platform can become a slow and long process if they need to learn about organizational processes and best practices through different means rather than finding them in one common place. Also, it may not be scalable to train all the builders individually to familiarize them with standard project practices they need to follow when building automations. Similarly, users are likely to build more automations if they know where to get additional support when they need it.

A Resource Center is an online knowledge and asset repository to host everything automation builders need to succeed, such as training paths, automation lifecycle processes, frequently asked questions, how-to guides, and best practices documents.
A resource center helps quick onboarding of automation builders and lowers the overhead on the Automation HQ team in answering common questions.  Implement a resource center using tools such as Wiki, company portal, or team collaboration platform that is accessible across the organization.

While the content of your organization's resource center may depend on the particular needs of users, most include information that helps answer the following questions around building and managing automations.

An orderly and up-to-date resource center can help you drive consistent practices across teams. Here are some ways a resource center can boost your automation adoption.

  • Lower training costs and onboarding durations with skill-based training paths, including organizational processes and answers to frequently asked questions.
  • Improve self-service through accessible best practices documentation.
  • Drive efficiency by avoiding duplication of work through how-to guides preventing the need to reinvent the wheel in different parts of the organization.
